The cable sets of Dura Ace Di2 7970 had four wires - cable sets of all subsequent Di2 groups (Ultegra Di2 6770, Alfine Di2, Dura Ace Di2 9070, Ultegra Di2 6870) have two wires and thinner plugs. Therefore, the newer components are not compatible with the old Dura Ace Di2 7970.
