After the mountain bike flagship XTR already set the standard and Deore XT and SLX followed, the Deore M6100 now rounds off Shimano's 12-speed lineup. It is complemented by the M5100 and M4100 series components, which will equip 11- and 10-speed drivetrains at the same high level.

The current Shimano Deore groups, priced in the entry-level segment, are uncompromising in terms of performance, quality and reliability. Almost everything that distinguishes the big brothers and sisters in terms of technology, innovation, performance and range of functions can also be found in the Deore components.

Shimano Deore SL-M5100-I Rapidfire Plus Mono Shifting Lever

The Shimano Deore SL-M5100 shifting lever is characterized by its simple and smooth operation, allowing the rider to focus solely on the trail ahead. The I-Spec EV construction, already known from XTR, Deore XT and SLX, has now also made its way into the Deore components. This technology makes it possible to attach a corresponding shifting lever directly to the brake lever, making a clamp superfluous and significantly increasing the adjustment range.

Thanks to its compact Rapidfire Plus Mono design, the 2-speed shifter features intuitive single-lever operation for up and down shifts with natural finger positioning. In combination with the proven 2-Way Release technology, the lever can be released by pushing as well as by pulling. The left SL-M5100 shifting lever is compatible with both 2x11 and 2x10-speed drivetrains.

2-Way Release

The 2-Way Release allows you to release the cable by pushing with your thumb or pulling with your index finger. So you don't have to adapt your riding style to the rear derailleur, but the rear derailleur adapts to your riding style.
